Never played the game, but I have the sixth edition book and would love to give it a go at some point. Any of you ever play? If so, any tips/suggestions for running a game?

I got one of the books a few years ago. I don't think I've even opened it. :(

IIRC, we both ordered the book at the same time when the thread was started up on Galaxy a couple years back. :D

That is not dead in which Galaxy lie.
And with strange aeons, even Darkness may die.

I've never played it, but I would love to. I have played the Arkham Horror board game, though, and it is awesome. Who knew you could hurt Yig and the Yellow King with a tommy gun?

Played a few campaigns, and run one.

    GM tips:

If they players want to behave like morons or action heroes, let them do it the first couple of times and see where it gets them (killed). The complexity and chore-like nature of this games character creation will put an end to their foolishness once they've had to do it a few times.

If players are RPing madness overtaking them as their SAN goes down, encourage it but don't let them go full schizo til *all* their SAN is gone.

Guns can kill lesser mythos entities like undead or Deep Ones, but they won't. Ever. You'll make sure of this.

Don't be That GM, or some player will go full Old Man Henderson on your ass.

PCs not trusting each other is good, as long as they're still prepared to work together.

The game is about investigation, not action. You want the Delta Green stuff for action.

Sounds good. I'll keep that in mind when I give the book another look-over. Sounds like a lot of fun.

You maybe planning to do this online? If yes, let me know. CoC is an RP I've been interested in for awhile.

I remember playing it quite a bit in the late 80s and early 90s. It's what got me into HPL.

As much as I dug True Detective, I did hope it would go a bit more down a Lovecraftian road.
