    I don't disagree.

But to that I will add, it looks much better than the first one.

I think if a creator has something to gain from a film's success but isn't truly happy with it they'd be polite at best based on what I've seen.

the deadpool movies are the best thing that's happened to Liefeld in a long time

(other than the Prophet comic book series reboot).

I mean, that's better than any of the jokes in the first film.

Late in the hodgepodge that is Deadpool 2, the superhero joke-machine (Ryan Reynolds) confronts the muscular, time-traveling villain, Cable (Josh Brolin), who’s trying to murder an adolescent mutant. Deadpool yells, “Hands off that kid, John Connor!” and part of the audience laughs and part of it stares dumbly, trying to process the movie’s 674th pop-culture reference. But what’s the joke, exactly? John Connor wasn’t the time-traveling killer. He was the kid who the time-traveling Terminator was trying to kill — except (I think) in the last sequel, which no one even remembers, when he was trying to kill … his own mother??? Himself??? It’s not worth the time it takes to process. The basic joke, repeated ad infinitum, is that that Deadpool has seen the Terminator films, along with the Marvel and DC and Star Wars movies. He’s like an especially obnoxious fanboy except you could punch a fanboy and he’d shut up. Deadpool takes a licking and keeps on shticking.

I was not an enormous fan of the first film and I feel the same way about the second but I did feel it had a better handle on humor, drama and style. It certainly looks a lot better than the first.

Killing off Morena Baccarin and most of X-Force as joke characters was pretty lame.
The mutant prison scenes reminded me of the Kyln from Guardians of the Galaxy
Negasonic and her girlfriend feel like afterthoughts with more focus on Colossus
There's no "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch" and he doesn't get to do much either

In a lot of ways it's Deadpool: Days of Future Past and your mileage may vary.

Deadpool is also pretty damn sure that he saw Luke actually boinking Leia in a Star Wars film at some point.
His brain is a mess and he's more than just a bit insane.

His pop culture references are just blending together at this point.
It's a character thing and it's pointed out in the film.
