Did not work. Found a converter that allowed download. THIS BETtER bEE WOURTHIT!!!

    ....
    Yes, this movie needs rediscovery.
It baffles me how one can not see its greatness. Especially in the context of Lynchs filmography.
I can't comment on its qualities as a book adaption. And it objectively is a strange and messy film, very much so.
But... it's a friggin Lynch movie! What do people expect.
Giant mutants, witch girls, pain boxes, floaty fat men, Sting in winged speedos, cat milking, heart plugs, battle pugs and so much more all taking place in sets that only can happen to exist when someone gives Lynch too much money.
This is fever dream space opera.

I will say I liked Lynch's Dune back when I saw it around 12 years back, haven't seen it since, but I don't think I'd hate it or dislike it now.

These are all from the source material:
These are David Lynch's original ideas:
    mikelol QUALITY ideas. mikelol

    It's a very cynical book.
In it, Paul Atreides knows that he's a false messiah
and he manipulates fremen superstition to survive and gain control of their armies.
All of this ends up biting him in the ass. It's a story about the dangers of when societies fall in love with "heroes". (see: Donald Trump)

Lynch's adaptation removes all cynicism and is a film about a white saviour coming from the stars to save these "poor savages" from an intergalactic empire. It's a film adaptation done without any idea of what the source material is about.

In the books: Bene Gesserit create and manipulate religions for their own gain.
In the film: All the characters buy into their own bullshit religions.

zlol I wonder why people dislike this dumbass film. zlol

God Emperor, Heretics, and Chapterhouse came in the mail today niglol

Only about 70 pages into Children, but this one is feeling like a more full fledged sequel. Which isn't a job at Messiah at all, I adored the story that one told, but it felt very integrated with the first, almost like a fourth "book" or an epilogue, whereas this one is wholly committed to taking leaps into its own narrative.

soon to be quite literal leaps over tall buildings in a single bound...

Lack of free time this month has had me fall way behind on Children of Dune, but I'm slowly making my way through the book. I still feel as though it is a bit more difficult a read than the first two so far, but things are very much opening up in interesting ways as it progresses. The story that it is telling isn't moving in the way I expected, but I also still don't entirely have a grasp on where it is going to go in the end. Very much enjoying my reading sessions, few and far between as they may be.

Halleck and Namri are testing Leto to see if he is Abomination and he's having visions of an Arrakis without Shai-Hulud, Farad'n is geeking out over his hand, and Ghani and Alia have struck a sort of deal that Irulan isn't overly fond of. 120 or so pages to go.
